Men's 4x400m Relay Team Finishes Third in Finals

FINAL RESULTS

Austin, Texas -- The UTEP track and field team wrapped up competition at the historic Texas Relays Saturday afternoon. The men's 4x400m relay team replicated their performance from a day ago and sophomore thrower Samantha Hall had a solid showing in the discus throw.

The men's 4x400m relay team of A-Shawni Mitchell, Carnell Horn, James Bias and Abiola Onakoya ran to a third-place finish in the finals. They crossed the finish line with a vaporizing time of 3:09.03.

Hall registered a eighth-place showing in the discus throw with a toss of 52.01m (170-7). She was placed in an elite group with some of the best discus throwers in the country for her flight. Hall currently holds the longest throw (52.81m) in Conference USA with her performance last weekend at the UTEP Springtime.

Bias, A-Shawni Mitchell and Onakoya had a busy day on the track. In the morning session, they, along with Darius Mitchell, ran to a sixth-place finish in the men's 4x200m relay race with a time of 1:25.07.

Next up for the Miners will be the Stanford Invitational on April 3-4.
