The UTEP women's golf team finished in 18th place in its initial competition of the season, the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational on Tuesday in Albuquerque.
The Miners shot rounds of 322, 315 and 313 for a 74-over-par 950.
Heading up the 18-team event was defending national champion Stanford (281-285-290-856), with Northwestern second (289-289-288-866) and UNLV third (291-292-287-870).
The individual winner was Northwestern's Sarah Cho, who was competing unattached. She carded an eight-under-par 211 (68-74-69).
UTEP's Amber Herrera (83-76-77-236) and June Ting (80-80-76-236) tied for 78th place. Alisa Rodriguez tied for 87th place (80-81-80-241), Sofia Castiello tied for 89th place (84-78-80-242) and Patricia Rico-Avello landed in 98th place (79-84-85-248).
The Miners' Mirabela Woods, competing as an individual, took 100th place (89-76-86-251).
UTEP will next participate in the ORU Shootout Sept. 28-29 in Tulsa, Okla.
