UTEP Women's Golf Close Out Regular Season at the Wyoming Girl Classic

EL PASO, Texas - The UTEP women's golf team will compete in its final regular season tournament on Monday and Tuesday in Maricopa, Ariz.

While the tournament is being hosted by the University of Wyoming, it will be played at the par-72, 6,131-yard AK-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club, about 35 miles outside of Phoenix.

A long-time participant in the tournament, the Miners won the title in 2010 with a 19-over par 883 (299-295-289).

UTEP will join Boise State, Cal Poly, CSU Bakersfield, Cal State Fullerton, Eastern Washington, Montana, Montana State, New Mexico State, North Dakota State, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Portland State, Santa Clara, Seattle Redhawks, South Dakota State, Southern Utah, UC Riverside, UT Arlington and Wyoming in a packed field this year.

Coach Jere Pelletier's lineup card will be composed of senior Lily Downs, juniors Crystal Wu and Shannon O'Dwyer and sophomores Valeria Mendizabal and Audrey Haddad.

Thirty-six holes are scheduled for Monday, with 18 more on Tuesday following a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. MT each day.

This will be the Miners' final tuneup for the Conference USA Championships, which begin April 15-17 in Fort Myers, Fla.
