EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP men's basketball team's 2022-23 home opener against NM State is less than a month away. The Miners will take on the Aggies in the "Battle of I-10" on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7 pm in the Don Haskins Center.
It is the Miners' '915 Game' and UTEP is seeking its first sellout in the Haskins Center since 2016.The current arena seating capacity is 11,892 and over 6,100 tickets have been issued for the game.
UTEP last played before a capacity crowd in the Haskins Center against WKU on Feb. 16, 2016. The Miners have sold out only one other game in the "Bear's Den" over the last 10 years, versus Arizona on Dec. 19, 2014.
"We are excited about tipping off our home schedule against NM State for the first time in 24 years," UTEP coach
Joe Golding said. "The Battle of I-10 means so much to this community, and selling out the Haskins Center would mean so much for our players and our program. I'd like to thank everybody that has purchased tickets for our '915 Game' already, and invite all of Miner Nation to get on board and pack the Haskins Center on Nov. 12!"
In conjunction with the Miners' '915 Campaign,' UTEP Men's Basketball season tickets start at just $91.50. Fans can also get into any of UTEP's home games this season starting at just $9.15.
The Miners will conduct a free open practice at Eastwood High School tonight at 6:30 pm, and season tickets will be sold at the practice. The open practice is the first opportunity for fans to preview Golding's new-look squad.

UTEP is coming off a 20-win season and postseason appearance in its first campaign (2021-22) under coach Golding. It marked the first 20-win campaign and postseason showing since 2015.
