LEXINGTON, Ky. - UTEP Volleyball has earned the 2024 AVCA Team Academic Award, sponsored by INTENT, the AVCA announced. The honor marks the sixth time UTEP Volleyball has earned the award. 

More than 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs maintained a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), to earn the award for their classroom excellence during the recently completed academic year.  

The Miners posted a cumulative GPA of 3.51 over the 2023-24 academic year and excelled in their academic pursuits, with 17 athletes landing on the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll for maintaining a GPA of at least 3.0. Additionally, eight Miners were awarded CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medals for achieving a GPA of at least 3.75. Notably, three standout students, Alianza Darley, Alyssa Sianez, and Torrance Lovesee, were selected to the CUSA All-Academic Team and were named CSC Academic All-District.
