DALLAS – UTEP sophomore forward Mary Moses Amaniyo has been named the Conference USA Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. Amaniyo earns the honor after delivering another dominant performance against UT Martin to help the Miners remain unbeaten on the season.
 
Amaniyo posted a career-high 18 points and 18 rebounds in UTEP's 64–60 overtime victory against UT Martin on Saturday night, marking her third double-double of the season. She finished an efficient 6–8 from the floor and 6–8 at the free-throw line, anchoring both ends of the floor in the Miners' gritty overtime win. She becomes UTEP's first Conference USA Player of the Week since Feb. 26, 2024, when senior Jane Asinde earned the honor.
 
Through four games, Amaniyo has been one of the nation's top performers. She leads all of Division I in rebounds per game (15.0) and ranks fifth nationally in double-doubles (3), while helping guide UTEP to a 4-0 start.
 
Amaniyo's 18-rebound effort came just two weeks after she set the UTEP single-game rebounding record with 22 boards against Prairie View A&M on Nov. 3. She has recorded double doubles in three of four games this season and continues to pace UTEP in both scoring (15.0 ppg) and rebounding (15.0 rpg).
