UTEP’s Davey Named First Team, Odom Second Team as All-CUSA Postseason Honors Were Released Thursday

DALLAS – The 2025 All-Conference USA football teams were announced Thursday as UTEP's LB Micah Davey grabbed first team honors and WR Kenny Odom was named to the second team for a second consecutive year. OL Mark Robinson, DT KD Johson, Bandit Udoka Ezeani and LS Josh Hancock earned honorable mention recognition. 
 
RB Ashten Emory, WR Wondame Davis Jr., TE Josh Schuchts, DL Elijah Baldwin and KR/PR Nik Henry made the 2025 CUSA All-Freshman team. 
 
Davey started 11 of 12 games played. Davey leads CUSA with 131 tackles. The native of Baton Rouge, La., ranks fourth in the FBS in total tackles and tackles per game (10.9). Davey added 9.0 tackles for loss, a sack, three hurries, and a fumble recovery. The redshirt senior recorded eight double-digit tackle games, including seven in a row from Sept. 27 to Nov. 22. Davey recorded 12 vs. LA Tech, 12 vs. Liberty, 14 at Sam Houston, a season-high 17 at Kennesaw State, 13 against Jax State, 12 at Missouri State, and 12 against NM State. He notched 14 tackles against UT Martin. For Davey, it's his third career all-conference honor as he was named 2023 All-Southland first team and 2024 All-Southland second team while playing at McNeese State. 
 
Odom started in 11 of 12 games played. Odom led UTEP and ranks first in CUSA with 62 receptions. The Savannah, Ga., product leads CUSA with 5.6 catches per game. Odom tallied 582 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Odom ranks tied for fourth with six TD receptions. He tallied a season-high 124 yards on five receptions and a 74-yard TD against UT Martin. The redshirt junior opened 2025 with 97 yards on nine receptions and a TD at Utah State. Odom recorded a career-best 10 receptions for 67 yards and a TD at Sam Houston. Odom hauled in six passes for 51 yards and a score at Kennesaw State. He recorded 48 yards on eight receptions and a TD against NM State and finished the season with 94 yards on seven catches and a 49-yard TD at Delaware. He added 57 yards on 13 rushes with a long run of 13 yards at KSU. Odom was a 2024 All-CUSA second team selection. 
 
Robinson started in all 12 games played at the left tackle position. The sophomore transfer helped the Miners rush for 248 yards against NM State and 194 against UT Martin. UTEP rushed for 175 yards and allowed only one sack at Sam Houston. Robinson's PFF grade was 70.1 with a pass-blocking percentage of 85.4. He played 63 reps and had five knockdowns against the Bearkats. Overall, UTEP rushed for 1,387 yards and 14 TDs.
 
Johnson started all 12 games played as a fifth-year. Johnson ranked tied for fourth on the team and tied 35th in CUSA with 60 tackles. The Houston product led all CUSA DT/NTs in tackles, tackles for loss (12.0), and sacks (3.5). He also recorded two breakups, six hurries, and a forced fumble. Johnson led the Miners in TFL and ranked tied for second in sacks. Johnson tied his career high with 2.0 sacks and set a career best with 3.0 TFL at Missouri State. Johnson tied his career best with eight tackles at no. Texas, at Sam Houston, and against NM State. Johnson added 2.5 TFL and a sack against the Aggies. This is Johnson's second career honor mention after earning one last season. 
 
Ezeani started in all 12 games played. The native of Richmond, Texas, ranked eighth on the team with 45 tackles. He ranked second on the team and is tied for fifth in CUSA with 10.0 tackles for loss. Ezeani led the Miners and ranked tied for seventh in CUSA with 5.0 sacks. Ezeani recorded a career-high 2.0 sacks against LA Tech. He recorded a season-high seven tackles at Utah State and at Missouri State
 
Hancock played in all 12 games. The redshirt recorded four tackles from the long snapper position. Hancock, a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, had a career-high two tackles at Utah State and recorded tackles at no. 7 Texas and at Kennesaw State.
 
Emory started in eight of the 12 games played. The redshirt freshman led UTEP and ranks ninth in CUSA with 569 yards. Emory scored six total touchdowns (four rush, two rec.) and added 103 yards on 16 receptions. The Dallas native recorded a career-high 181 yards on 18 carries, including a career-long 56-yard TD against rival NM State. He totaled 192 all-purpose yards against the Aggies. Emory's 181 was the most rushing yards by a Miner in nine years, while he was the first ever to reach 181 rushing yards in a game. Emory rushed for 96 yards on 15 carries (6.4 avg.) and a 34-yard TD at Sam Houston. Emory opened the season with a rushing score at Utah State. Emory totaled three TD (one rush, two rec.) against UT Martin.
 
Wondame Davis Jr. started in six of the 11 games played. The redshirt freshman set a school record and is second in FBS, averaging 23.5 yards per reception. Overall, Davis Jr. tallied 610 yards on only 26 receptions and six touchdowns. Davis Jr. ranks eighth in yards and tied for fourth in TD catches (six). The Ennis, Texas, native hit the century mark in a trio of games. Davis Jr.'s first career 100-yarder was against ULM with 119 on six receptions (19.8 avg.) and two touchdowns. Davis Jr. recorded a career-high 166 yards on five catches (33.2 avg.) and a TD against Jax State and ended the campaign with 112 yards on three receptions (37.3 avg.) with a 68-yard touchdown at Delaware. His 166 was the second-highest total in week 11. Davis Jr. registered 58 yards on two receptions and a score against LA Tech, and put up 79 on three catches at Sam Houston. Davis Jr. was named the CUSA Freshman of the Week on Sept. 22, following his performance against ULM.
 
Schuchts started in seven of eight games played at tight end. The redshirt freshman missed all of 2024 and the first four games of 2025 due to injury. The native of Tallahassee, Fla., produced 232 yards on 21 receptions (11.0 avg.) and three touchdowns. Schuchts recorded a career-high 87 yards and career-high tying four receptions and a TD at Delaware. He recorded a career-long 64-yard TD against the Blue Hens. Schuchts scored on a 41-yarder at Kennesaw State and hauled in his first career TD at Sam Houston. He added a pair of two-point conversions. Schuchts hauled in the most touchdowns by a UTEP tight end in four seasons. 
 
Baldwin played in all 12 games. The redshirt freshman tallied 25 tackles with 3.5 sacks (tied second on the team) and 5.0 TFL. The San Antonio, Texas, product blocked a field goal at Sam Houston. Baldwin recorded a career-high 1.5 sacks at Utah State.
 
Henry played in eight games. The true freshman returned 13 kickoffs for 166 yards. The Seguin, Texas, native tallied 80 yards on five returns with a long of 22 yards against NM State. Henry returned four punts for 47 yards. He tallied a long return of 41 yards at Missouri State.
