UTEP Athletics Fundraiser “Texas Western Round Up” Featuring Mr. UTEP Two-Step, Tim Hardaway Coming on August 9th

EL PASO, Texas – "Texas Western Round Up," UTEP Athletics' annual fundraiser in support of student-athlete scholarships, is coming soon! UTEP Basketball Hall of Famer and 13-year NBA veteran Tim Hardaway is this year's special guest. Formerly known as "Orange Fever Fiesta," "Texas Western Round Up" is set for Saturday, Aug. 9 at 6:30 pm in the Don Haskins Center.

Speaking Rock Entertainment is the presenting sponsor. Other elements of the event will be sponsored by Commercial Screen Printing, Fox Auto Team, Franklin Building Materials, HUB International, Oscar Arrieta's All State Agency, Sodexo UTEP and Wyler Industrial Works.

"Texas Western Round Up" will feature dinner and drinks, a live band, silent and live auctions. UTEP head coaches, student-athletes and spirit squads will be in attendance. Keeping with the "Texas Western" theme, guests are encouraged to don their boots and western wear.

"We are excited to bring a fresh look to this event in 2025," UTEP Vice President and Director of Athletics Jim Senter said. "The Don Haskins Center will offer a very special environment and we're thrilled to bring back Miner legend Tim Hardaway. It's going to be a great time for a tremendous cause, raising funds for UTEP student-athlete scholarships!"

Tickets are $199 each and include an open bar. Tables of 10 are available for $1,800, or $5,000 for the opportunity to sit with Tim Hardaway. Tickets can be purchased here. Hardaway led the Miners to four consecutive NCAA Tournament bids from 1985-89 before enjoying an illustrious pro career. He was a five-time NBA All-Star while playing for the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers.

Tickets for eight people in the new Gold Deluxe section for UTEP football home games
"El Chuco" UTEP football helmet

Live auction items include:

Helicopter Adventure flying over El Paso and New Mexico, featuring brunch in Old Mesilla
One-day training session with former UTEP star quarterback Jordan Palmer (QB Summit) and NFL quarterbacks
"Glory Road" piece of the Don Haskins Center floor
