Biography

PRIOR TO UTEP
  • Competed at New Mexico during the 2024 season.
  • Saw action in the 5k at the UNM Lobo XC Invitational, clocking in a 26:25.6 and placing 28th. 
  • Posted a personal-best 21:05.30 in the 5000-meter event at the UIL 1A-6A Region 1 Championship while running at Eastwood High School.
  • Ran in nine 5000m events during high school career. 
  • Also competed on the track team with the Troopers.
  • Ran the 100, 200, 400, 800, and did the triple jump while at Eastwood.

PERSONAL: Giovanna Zubia is the daughter of Guillermo and Berenice Zubia … born in El Paso … has one sister … mother and father are UTEP graduates … environmental science major.
