Shane Fitzpatrick

Shane Fitzpatrick joined the UTEP family in June 2015.  His primary appointment is providing health care and injury prevention for the Track and Field and Cross Country teams.  He also oversees the treatment and care of the UTEP Cheerleading teams.

Fitzpatrick served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Kentucky, where his responsibilities included working with the UK Healthcare Orthopaedic Surgery Group and UK Club Hockey.  He earned his master’s of science in athletic training in the Spring of 2015.

Prior to pursuing his master’s degree, Fitzpatrick served as an intern athletic trainer at the University of Maryland working with their baseball and men’s soccer teams.

Fitzpatrick earned his bachelor of science in athletic training from The University of New Mexico.  During his time there, he served as collegiate representative to the New Mexico Athletic Trainers’ Association, and also as an intern at Winter X-Games 14.

He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and is a certified personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
