Before UTEP: Two-time regional qualifier in the 4 x 400 meter relay at Newman Smith High School...also lettered in football earning a pair of All-District selections.

Personal: Attended Tyler Junior College from 2006-2007...son of William and Willadean Martin...born on January 2, 1988 in El Paso, Texas.
