Seventeen UTEP student-athletes will be bestowed with Conference USA Academic medals for the 2008-09 academic year. The medals are presented to student-athletes who have achieved cumulative GPAs of 3.75 or better.
UTEP's recipients are as follows by sport:
Women's Basketball (1): Marta Micula.
Football (1): George Kelly.
Men's Golf (2): Jordan Bucy and H.J. Roberts.
Soccer (5): Melissa Desilets, Flo Gutierrez, Angie Kleinfelder, Brittany Popoff and Brittany Vacca.
Softball (3): Ashley Collazo, Kelynn Frye and Stacie Townsend.
Men's Track & Field (3): Hans Eriksson, Carlos Montijo and Cesar Ramirez.
Volleyball (2): Cassandra Burruel and Marie-Therese Joyce.
