Justice Chirchir set a season-best clocking in with a time of 24:39 to place 22nd at the Notre Dame Adidas Invitational on Friday, Sept. 30. The Miners, who were facing eight ranked teams, secured an 18th-place finish at the event with 429 points.
Jeane Horton- Volleyball
Jeane Horton helped the Miners finish 2-0 with victories over Marshall and ECU to set a 13-5 overall record for the first time since 2005. She had a stellar showing posting a career-high 20 kills and averaged a .304 hitting percentage against Marshall. In the sweep against ECU, the outside hitter hammered a match-high 12 kills and registered an attack percentage of .233. The sophomore led the Miners averaging 4.43 kills per set and averaged a .276 hitting percentage this weekend. Horton also played a large part in the Miners' assault, as she produced five blocks (2s/3a) against the Herd.
