Gloria Brown Women's Basketball
Brown posted back-to-back double-doubles, in leading UTEP to a 1-1 mark on the week. The Miners dropped a hard-fought game at Arizona State, 47-45, before bouncing back to crush Texas State, 81-58. She hit 47 percent of her shots while grabbing 25 rebounds, including seven at the offensive end. Brown also blocked four shots and had a quartet of steals.
Gabriel McCulley Men's Basketball
McCulley was named to the Bank of the West Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational All-Tournament team after averaging 15.5 points with a .778 field goal percentage in two games ... he made 6-of-7 shots in scoring 13 points in a 56-53 loss to Colorado State ... McCulley followed that up by connecting on 8-of-11 field goal attempts in an 18-point performance versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
