Nick Lamaison threw for 157 yards and two touchdowns before re-aggravating a hamstring injury and leaving the game late in the second quarter against Tulane. Lamaison was 11-of-16 (69 percent) and rushed for a season-best 36 yards. He orchestrated three scoring drives covering 75 yards or more and directed an offense that converted five of six third downs, four of which were more than 10 yards. In fact, eight of Lamaison's 11 passes were for more than 10 yards and two were over 20, including a 28-yard TD pass to Michael Edwards. Under his command, the Miners scored on four of their first five possessions.

Xitlali Herrera, Volleyball
Xitlali Herrera had an outstanding showing against Rice as she recorded a career-high 19 digs and hammered 13 kills, making it her fifth double-double of the season. The middle blocker didn't stop there as she added five blocks (1s/4a), three service aces and zero reception errors versus the Owls. The junior posted eight kills, nine digs, four block assists and a .312 hitting percentage leading UTEP past Houston, 3-1. The Miners were able to maintain the Cougars to a low .041 hitting percentage on Friday.
