Janice Jackson Women's Track & Field
Janice Jackson had a standout showing at the 2012 Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Only a sophomore, Jackson recorded the 24th-fastest time in the country in the 100m hurdles. She clocked in at 13.27 to earn second place at the meet. Jackson also assisted the 4x100m relay to a fourth-place outcome and was a part of the 4x400m relay unit which landed in sixth place.
Anthony Wright Men's Track & Field
Anthony Wright turned in a tremendous performance by earning four medals in helping the men's team earn runner-up honors at the 2012 Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field championships. The junior posted a time of 10.51 to cross the finish line first in the 100m dash. It was his first outdoor league title and second of his career. Wright also had a trio of silver medals, doing so in the 200m, 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay. Overall his efforts helped the men's squad account for 34 of its total 132 points.
