Mark Jackson, Men's Track & Field
Jumper Mark Jackson took on some of the world's elite athletes this weekend at the highly competitive 2013 Drake Relays helping the No. 25 men's team earn their second title at the meet. The junior registered the third-best leap in the nation in the triple jump of 16.19m (53-01.50), which is also a new personal best. Jackson also is ranked first in Conference USA in the event and secured the No. 8 spot in the school recordbooks with that jump.
Janice Jackson, Women's Track & Field
Junior Janice Jackson was once again victorious in the 100m hurdles this weekend. The hurdler opened the 2013 Drake Relays with the 100m hurdles prelims, where she took on a field of 28 competitors and finished second with a time of 14.13. Jackson went on to claim the 100m hurdles crown as she dashed to the finish line with a time of 13.26 (W: -1.6). The junior boosted the 4x100m relay team to an overall fifth place finish with a time of 45.01.
