Anthony Rotich Cross Country
Anthony Rotich took a second-place finish for the first time this year while competing at the Chile Pepper Festival. The All-American missed out on the individual title by less than a second. The junior finished with a time of 23:54.5 for the 8K. Rotich is only the second Miner to finish in the runner up spot at the Chile Pepper Festival (Bogdan Mircea, 2003 and 2004). His efforts helped the men's team secure a fourth-place finish out of 20 teams.
Sarah Dilling Soccer
Sarah Dilling gave up just one goal-on a penalty kick- while turning in a solid weekend of action against two of the top teams in Conference USA. She was credited with three saves against North Texas, including a pair on dangerous set-piece attempts, while turning away all five shots faced against Rice. It marked just the third time this year that the Owls had been blanked. Dilling also made several other plays in both games that won't show up in the box score. She did a good job of punching out crosses while also intercepting thru balls with a sliding effort.
