Wes Miller Football
Wes Miller led the Miners defense to a 24-21 victory over Middle Tennessee on Saturday. The former walk-on tied his career high 11 tackles versus the Blue Raiders. This marked the sixth contest of the season that Miller led the team in tackles. He topped the night with an interception giving the Miners a perfect 4-0, league record in the Sun Bowl.

Vince Hunter Men's Basketball
Vince Hunter compiled three double-doubles in as many games as UTEP reached the championship game of the DIRECTV Wooden Legacy tournament Nov. 27-30. The Miners defeated Princeton (62-56) and Xavier (77-73) before falling to Washington (68-65) in the title game. His performance also earned him a spot on the DIRECTV Wooden Legacy All-Tournament Team. Hunter has had a double-double in all five games this season, the first Miner to achieve the feat in the first five contests of a season since All-American and #1 NBA Draft pick Jim Barnes in 1963.
