Nick Usher Football
Nick Usher led the Miners defense with an all-around performance against I-10 rival NM State. The standout complied a career best nine tackles, including two for losses and a QB hurry. The sophomore also was responsible for the only fumble of the night. The defense held the Aggies out of the end zone for the whole second and third quarter and NM State was only 5 of 12 in third-down conversions.
Daphne Visscher Tennis
Daphne Visscher, who won two fall matches last season, won two matches in as many days to capture the Flight 3 bracket championship at the 2014 Aggie Invitational over the weekend. She defeated NM State's Marie-Pier Thiffault, 5-7, 6-3, 6-0, on Saturday to advance to the final. Visscher went on to take down Marie Deleval of Grand Canyon, 6-1, 7-5, on the final day to claim her first colligate championship.
