The senior set a personal best in the in the 5,000m run with a time of 13:31.59 at the Stanford Invitational. He finished third (second collegiately) in the elite heat that featured 19 runners, 16 of which were professional. His time ranks second nationally and first in Conference USA. The native Kenyan's time ranks third in program history at UTEP.
Taylor Gunn Women's Track & Field
The senior claimed two individual titles at the Don Kirby Tailwind. She took gold in the shot put with a toss of 14.25m (46-9.00); that throw ranks third in conference and ranks 10th all-time in UTEP program history. To cap off the day, Gunn took first place in the discus throw with a heave of 49.46m (162-3.0); that mark also ranks third in conference.
