The UTEP men's golf team took second place, one stroke behind champion Colorado State, at the Steve Kerr Invitational on Saturday in Buckeye, Ariz.
The Miners finished with a three-round tally of 874 (287-294-293). The Rams registered a score of 873 (294-281-298).
Xavier was third (298-296-286-880).
Dan Floyd posted a career-best second place showing for the Miners (69-67-76-212). Chris Baryla tied for sixth place (66-79-71-216), Scott Hollenbach tied for 26th place (74-74-76-224), James Allenby tied for 44th place (81-74-73-228) and Nick Quintela tied for 59th place (78-82-73-233).
The individual medalist was Denver's Barrett Jarosch (68-69-68-205), who edged Floyd by seven shots.
