Senior Vaida Zagurskyte and freshman Charnette Phelps each were named to postseason teams by the Western Athletic Conference coaches on Sunday.
Zagurskyte, who is averaging 12.2 points and 4.8 rebounds, was selected to the second team All-WAC. A native of Kaunas, Lithuania, she was also chosen to the league's All-Newcomer team last season.
Phelps was named to the WAC All-Freshman squad. She has scored 6.1 points and grabbed 5.0 rebounds per game this season.
Louisiana Tech's Amisha Carter was the Player of the Year, while its head coach, Kurt Budke, was named the Coach of the Year. Tulsa's Jillian Robbins was the Newcomer of the Year.
UTEP (15-12, 10-8) enters the WAC Tournament in Fresno, Calif., as the number four seed. The Miners will play fifth-seed SMU (13-14, 9-9) on Wednesday (March 10) at 3:30 p.m. MST. The Mustangs have defeated UTEP in the first two meetings this season.
