UTEP golfer Chris Baryla was named a third team PING All-American on Monday.

The senior from Vernon, British Columbia posted a 70.6 stroke average in 42 rounds of competition last season. He finished first at the Barona Collegiate Cup in Lakeside, Calif. in October.

UTEP has now had a golfer earn All-America honors in each of the last two years. Dan Swanson was also a third team honoree in 2003.

In addition Baryla, the 2004 WAC Player of the Year, was chosen to the PING All-Southwest Region Team.
