EL PASO, TEXAS (AP) -- Reagan Schneider kicked a 23-yard field goal with two seconds left as UTEP rallied for a 41-38 victory against Tulsa on Saturday night.

Jordan Palmer, who earlier tied the game on a 23-yard pass to Chris Francies, found Francies again for 48 yards to put the Miners (7-1, 5-1 Conference USA) in position for Schneider's winning kick.

Tulsa (5-4, 4-2) went ahead 38-31 on a 6-yard run by Brandon Diles with 8:12 remaining.

Palmer's scoring pass to Francies tied the score with 3:41 left, and the Miners held the Golden Hurricane, forcing a punt.

The Miners started their winning drive at their 33-yard line with 1:33 remaining. Palmer found Francies on the next play.

UTEP, which tied the score five times, took its first lead on Schneider's winning kick.

Palmer completed 25 of 34 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns, setting a school record with 52 career scoring passes.

Tulsa's Paul Smith completed 23 of 40 passes for 263 yards and a touchdown, and he ran for a score. Uril Parrish had two rushing touchdowns for the Golden Hurricane.

The win in front of a boisterous crowd of 49,160 clinched back-to-back winning seasons for the Miners for the first time since 1987-88.
