EL PASO, Texas - The UTEP volleyball team took a 3-0 loss to the New Mexico State Aggies in front of a season-best crowd of 1,363 on Wednesday night at Memorial Gym.

The Aggies defeated the Miners by scores of 25-15, 25-14 and 25-15 improving to 14-7 for the season, while remaining atop the Western Athletic Conference standings tied for first with No. 9 Hawaii. UTEP fell to 6-16 overall and 2-6 in Conference USA play.

NMSU combined for 42 kills for a .301 hitting percentage and used several attackers to down the Miners' defense. The Miners, averaging 1.65 aces per set, were limited to just one through the match.

Junior outside hitter Amy Sanders recorded eight kills, eight digs and added two unassisted blocks.

UTEP will get on the road this weekend to take Houston on Friday night at the Athletics/Alumni Center and Rice on Sunday afternoon at the Fox Gymnasium.
