Legendary Archie Manning Headlines 2011 UTEP Fundraiser

Aug. 18, 2011

Hall of Famer Archie Manning will be the special guest at the 2011 Orange Fever Fiesta, the annual fund-raising event for UTEP Athletics, on Friday, Aug. 26 at Grace Gardens Ballroom.

A member of the College Football Hall of Fame, Manning played quarterback at the University of Mississippi from 1969-71. He enjoyed a 14-year NFL career with the New Orleans Saints (1971-82), Houston Oilers (1982-83) and Minnesota Vikings (1983-84). A two-time Pro Bowl selection, he was tabbed the NFC Offensive Player of the Year in 1978. Following his retirement, he has worked as an NFL radio and television analyst. He is the father of current NFL quarterbacks Eli and Peyton Manning.

The pre-event VIP sponsor reception, featuring a "Meet and Greet" with Mr. Manning, will begin at 5 p.m. The event and dinner, catered by Grace Gardens, will start at 6:30 p.m. A live and silent auction will be conducted throughout dinner to raise funds for student-athlete scholarships.

The list of auction items includes framed jerseys autographed by Archie, Eli and Peyton Manning. Trips to the 2012 Final Four, a Dallas Cowboys game, the 2012 Conference USA Basketball Tournament and a UTEP football away game will also be auctioned off, along with a fishing trip in Mississippi with UTEP basketball coach Tim Floyd. A painting of Don Haskins and Tim Floyd by Haskins' widow, Mary Haskins, will also be up for auction.

VIP reception sponsorship packages are available for $2,000, $3,000 or $5,000. Event and dinner individual tickets are $100, and a reserved table for 10 is available for $1,000. Non-attendees are welcome to make donations.
