USAFA, Colo. – No. 20 UTEP Rifle shot an aggregate of 4532, trailing behind No. 6 Air Force (4714) in its first road match of the fall season Saturday. The Miners posted a 2230 in smallbore and a 2302 in air rifle.
Isabel Brooks led the team with an aggregate 1143 while
Samantha Miller ranked second on the squad with 1135.
Jonna Warnken achieved a 10.9x shot.
"When traveling we try to eliminate any factors that might become a distraction," head coach
Austin Litherland said. "At times we experience equipment malfunctions and anxiety becomes one of those distractions especially in such a mental sport. We've put in good work in some areas, but we also need to improve in the mental aspect of the sport before our next match."
