UTEP Football to Square Off Against Middle Tennessee Saturday – Here are Six Reasons Why You Should Come to the Game!

EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP football team (4-4, 2-2 C-USA) returns to the Sun Bowl to take on Middle Tennessee (3-4, 0-3 C-USA) on Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.  Here are six reasons why Miner fans should make plans to be in the Sun Bowl this Saturday.
 
  1. UTEP is two wins away from bowl eligibility!  The Miners are trying to reach back-to-back bowl games for the first time since the 2004 and 2005 seasons.
  2. Friends & Family 4-Packs are available for just $48!  A Friends & Family 4-Pack provides four sideline tickets, four regular sized hot dogs, four medium soft drinks and a large popcorn for only $48.
  3. The Miners are on a roll!  UTEP has won three of its last four games and four of its last six.
  4. UTEP has won 10 of its last 12 games in the Sun Bowl.  Help the Miners defend the 915 and continue their winning ways by cheering them on in the iconic stadium.
  5. It's Homecoming!  You don't want to miss the Miners' 90th Homecoming game.
  6. Celebrate Halloween with the Miners!  Kids can trick or treat in the stadium beginning when gates open (5:30 pm) and continuing until the end of the second quarter.  UTEP Athletics teams will be passing out candy in the concourse and will also have a variety of games for kids to play.  Kids can enter the Halloween Costume Contest sponsored by GECU.  They can sign up in the Speaking Rock Pregame Party Zone and the winner will be announced during the third quarter of the game (winner must be present to win).  The prize is a Dave and Buster's gift card.
 
The Miners are coming off a thrilling 24-21 victory over Florida Atlantic on Saturday, Oct. 22.  Gavin Baechle's 27-yard field goal as time expired sent UTEP to its third consecutive win in the Sun Bowl.  Baechle also set the UTEP field goal record with the 51st of his career for the game winner – the Miners' first walk-off win in the Sun Bowl since 2010.
 
Fans can enjoy the free Speaking Rock Pregame Party Zone, with fun for the whole family, before the game.  The Speaking Rock Pregame Party Zone opens at 4 pm and will feature a performance by The Who cover band.
