EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP soccer program (1-10-2, 0-3-1 CUSA) hosts WKU (3-2-7, 1-0-2 CUSA) on Saturday night at University Field. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. MT. It is the first Saturday night match at home for the Miners since the 2021 season.

QUICK LOOK AT LAST WEEK
UTEP fell 1-0 to Jax State last week at University Field. Taya Lopez led all Miners with three shots (one on goal).
 
A GRAND OL' TIME
Five Miners have played over 1,000 minutes, led by Cayman Tamez with 1,148. Vanessa Cabello is close behind with 1,131, followed by Ashlyn Neireiter with 1,104, Emerson Kidd with 1,066 and Tionna Taylor with 1,024.
 
PACING THE MINERS
Sheyliene Patolo leads all Miners with three goals. Emerson Kidd and Taya Lopez have two apiece. Mina Rodriguez and Ashlyn Neireiter round out the goal scorers with one each. Olivia Roskos, Nicole Morales, Lopez, and Rodriguez are the four players who have notched assists this season.
 
SCOUTING WKU
The Lady Toppers have outscored opponents 17-12 this season, led by Katie Erwin with five goals on the year. Kayla Meyer and Olivia Cooke have tallied two goals apiece. Ambere Barnett, Anna Isger, Rebecca Roth, Aspen Seaich, Amanda Simpson, Alaina Nugier, Lily Rummo, and Emily Speidel have each scored one. Erwin, Meyer, and Sydney Ernst are the assist leaders for WKU, each notching two, while eight other players have recorded one assist in the campaign. Maddie Davis has had the bulk of the netminder duties for WKU, playing 11 of 12 matches. She has 37 saves with 12 goals against and has recorded five shutouts.
 
SERIES HISTORY WITH THE LADY TOPPERS
UTEP is 2-3-1 all-time against WKU. Their last matchup saw WKU pull off the 1-0 win in Bowling Green on 9/22/22. UTEP last beat WKU 2-0 on the road in 2021. The last home matchup between the Miners and the Lady Toppers came in the 2019 season.
