Walden Announces Jajuan Dulaney as Tight Ends Coach/Offensive Recruiting Coordinator

EL PASO – UTEP Football Head Coach Scotty Walden added Jajuan Dulaney as the Miners' new tight ends coach and offensive recruiting coordinator on Friday.
 
Dulaney follows Walden to the Sun City after serving has his tight ends coach at Austin Peay in 2023. Dulaney's efforts assisted the Governors during their United Athletic Conference Championship season, while claiming an FCS playoff berth. Dulaney will help mentor the program's newest tight end in 247 three-star athlete Martavious Collins who signed on Dec. 20. 
 
"Coach Dulaney has extensive experience at the G5 an P5 level. He is a great fundamentalist with our tight ends and helped our offense at Austin Peay be versatile due to our tight end play" Walden said. "He is also one of the best recruiters I have ever been around. He has a unique ability to teach, Coach guys hard but also develop a genuine, personal relationship with them. I am beyond excited to have Jajuan join our family here in El Paso!"
 
In 2023, Dulaney helped guide TE Jordan Goco as PFF's second highest overall graded tight end in the conference. Goco was also preseason first team All-UAC in 2023. PFF also graded Goco and TE Jack Baker as the first and second highest graded run blocking tight ends in the UAC, respectively. Goco finished with 10 receptions for 78 yards and two touchdowns (tied for second most TDs by tight ends in the UAC). 
 
Overall, the Governors ranked first in the UAC and 10th in the FCS in scoring offense (34.1 ppg), while their total offense (426.8 ypg) ranked 16th in the FCS and no. 2 in the UAC.
 
Dulaney started at Houston as an assistant offensive line coach and concluded the season as the interim offensive line coach in 2022. The Cougars' offensive line was rated top three in the American Athletic Conference according to PFF, while the offensive tackles group ranked top two in the AAC (PFF). Dulaney helped mentor a pair of first team All-AAC players in LT Patrick Paul and LG Cam Johnson. RT Lance Robinson and RG Tyler Johnson earned third team All-AAC honors. 
 
During the 2021 season, Dulaney was an offensive analyst at Texas. He was also responsible for offensive line recruiting and helped sign the no. 1 offensive line class in 2021. 
 
Before working at Houston in '22, Dulaney was there for two seasons (2019-20) as a graduate assistant, working with the offensive line. He assisted with coaching midseason PFF All-American and third-round NFL draft pick LT Josh Jones in 2020. 
 
Dulaney started his coaching career at Texas Tech where he was an offensive line and tight ends assistant in 2018. He also served as offensive quality control coach. The Red Raiders' total offense ranked 12th in FBS, while their passing offense was no. 4 in the nation. 
 
Dulaney was an offensive lineman at Maryland for four seasons (2013-16). The native of Powder Springs, Ga., was rated a three-star recruit by Rivals.com, ESPN.com, Scout.com and 247Sports.com at McEachern High School. 
 
Dulaney received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Maryland in May 2017.
