UTEP Soccer Announces First Schedule of Keeton Era

EL PASO, Texas – UTEP soccer head coach Gibbs Keeton released the 2023 schedule Tuesday morning. The Miners will play a 17-game regular season campaign, including nine home contests.

"I'm very excited for our first fall as a staff to have such a great schedule featuring top-tier competition," Keeton said. "Hosting games at University Field will have a different feel this year, and we hope to build a home-field advantage with our students and the El Paso faithful."

UTEP has nine non-conference games before the Conference USA slate begins. The first chance to watch the team will be Aug. 17 when it hosts NAU at University Field in the season opener.

Other non-conference home contests include a two-game homestand against Abilene Christian (Aug. 24) and PAC-12 program Arizona State (Aug. 27), UIW (Sept. 3), and Idaho (Sept. 14).

The Orange and Blue's first road test comes at San Diego State (Aug. 20). UTEP also competes at California Baptist (Aug. 31), former C-USA member Tulsa (Sept. 7), and Texas A&M – Commerce (Sept. 10).

Conference action begins at FIU (Sept. 17), with games at LA Tech (Sept. 24), Middle Tennessee (Oct. 12), and Sam Houston (Oct. 28) rounding out the away tilts for UTEP.

The Miners take on NM State (Sept. 21) in the 13th Battle of I-10 in their first league home game, with Jax State (Oct. 1), WKU (Oct. 7), and Liberty (Oct. 15) also venturing to the Sun City.
