TULSA, Okla. – The UTEP soccer team fell at Tulsa 4-0 Thursday night behind goals from four different Golden Hurricane players.
 
The home side got busy early in the first period, with a tally from Madison Tokarchik coming in the 14th minute of play. A shot from Liliana Fernandez found the back of the net 11 minutes later to put the Golden Hurricane up 2-0. Tulsa would take the lead into the halftime break.
 
In the second half the Orange and Blue held strong through 35 minutes before the Golden Hurricane broke through again in the 80th minute with a goal from Leah Diaz. Tulsa's final score of the contest came in the 85th minute from Kaylyn Simmons.
 
The Miners had seven shots in the game from four different players. Nicole Morales led the way with four (two on goal). Mina Rodriguez, Maia Rodriguez, and Emerson Kidd each tallied one shot.
 
UTEP earned five corner kicks compared to four by Tulsa, and Tionna Taylor recorded two saves.
 
Next up the Miners will travel down to play at Texas A&M Commerce Sunday (Sept. 10) at 12 p.m. MT/ 1 p.m. CT.
 
The next chance to catch UTEP at University Field is September 14 when the Miners return home to take on Idaho.
