UTEP T&F Set to Compete at Four Meets, Headlined by Beach and Bryan Clay Invitationals April 11-13

EL PASO, Texas – UTEP track and field led by the 17^th-ranked women's squad will compete at a quartet of meets in California as the Miners will see action at the Pacific Coast Invitational (April 11) and Beach Invitational (April 12-13) both hosted by Long Beach State at Jack Rose Track. The Miners will also see action at the Leopard Distance Carnival (April 12) at Ortmayer Stadium in La Verne and the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 12-13) at Azusa Athletic Stadium on Thursday through Saturday.

Starting Thursday UTEP will begin competition at the Pacific Coast Invitational. Taking the track and field for the Miners on the men's side are Jakub Belik (high jump), Oleksandr Blonskyi (110m H), Xavier Butler (200m, 4x100, 4x400), Jalen Cadet (100m, high jump, long jump), Stephen Carreto (400m H, 4x400), Karon Dean (200m, 4x100), Kevin Hewitt (200m, 400m), Joshua Hill (400m, 4x400), Alek Hristov (shot put, discus), Noah Jirgens (hammer), Julio Pacheco Estrada (400m, 4x400), Mathew Polk (100m, 200m, 4x100, 4x400), Oriade Rashid (100m, 200m, 4x100, 4x400), Zacarias Velasquez (long jump) and Jordani Woodley (200m, 4x100).

Competing on the women's side at the Pacific Coast Invitational are Loubna Benhadja (800m), Oghenekaro Brume (100m, 200m, 4x100, 4x400), Niesha Burgher (400m, 4x100, 4x400), Asia Hodge (200m, 4x100), Zani Meaders (200m, 4x100, 4x400), Arianne Morais (shot put), Natalie J. Murillo (discus), Esther Osisike (discus), Alla Parnov (pole vault), Marissa Simpson (200m), Rejoice Sule (200m, 4x100, 4x400), Princess Uche (200m, 4x400) and Karen Villa Medina (100m H, long jump).

Distance runners Brenda Jerop (1500m, 5K) and Salma Licon (3000m steeplechase) are taking the track at the Leopard Distance Carnival on Friday.

Competitors from the Pacific Coast meet will continue action at the Beach Invitational. Competing for the men are Belik (high jump), Blonskyi (110m H, pole vault), Butler (200m, 4x100, 4x400), Cadet (100m, high jump, long jump), Carreto (400m H), Dean (100m, 4x100), Hewitt (400m), Hill (400m, 4x400), Hristov (discus, hammer), Jirgens (hammer), Pacheco Estrada (400m, 4x400), Polk (100m, 200m, 4x100), Rashid (100m, 200m, 4x100, 4x400), Velasquez (long jump) and Woodley (200m, 110m H, 4x100).

Continuing action for the ladies at the Beach Invite are Benhadja (800m, 400m H, 4x400), Brume (100m, 200m, 4x100, 4x400), Burgher (4x100, 4x400), Hodge (100m, 4x100), Meaders (200m, 400m, 4x100, 4x400), Morais (javelin), Murillo (discus, hammer), Osisike (shot put, discus), Parnov (pole vault), Simpson (200m, 100m H, 4x100), Sule (4x100, 4x400), Uche (200m, 400m, 4x400) and Villa Medina (100m H, long jump).

The remaining distance runners will see action at the Bryan Clay Invitational as Ruth Jerubet (1500m), Maxwell Kipkosgei (800m, 1500m), Kenneth Talavera (800m, 1500m) and Aron Tanui (800m, 1500m) will compete.
