Pacheco Estrada Sets PR as UTEP T&F Wraps Up Don Kirby Tailwind Friday Night

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. –The UTEP track and field team completed action at the Don Kirby Tailwind Open at UNM Track & Field on Friday evening. 
 
Julio Pacheco Estrada clocked in a personal-best 46.63 and placed second in the men's 400-meter dash. Pacheco Estrada and Hill entered the weekend ranked two and three, respectively, in Conference USA. Pacheco Estrada topped CUSA-leader FIU's Raynell Chambers time of 46.70.  
 
Freshman Xavier Butler, in his first collegiate outdoor 200-meter dash, clocked in a 20.83 (+2.2) and finished in second place. Liberty's Omari Lewis ranks first in CUSA with a 20.70, while LA Tech's Valentino Rudolph is second (20.75) and Sam Houston's Jayden Jones is third (20.86). 
 
Butler won the men's 100 with a 10.23 (+2.7). Butler ranks no. 2 in CUSA with a 10.21 (+3.1). 
 
Niesha Burgher captured first place in the women's 100-meter dash, recording an 11.38 (+2.3). 
 
In the women's 200-meter dash, Rejoice Sule posted a 23.10 (+2.5) and victory. She topped her time of 23.59 (+2.7) which ranks fourth in CUSA. 
 
Joshua Hill turned in a season-best 46.89 in the men's 400 and a fourth-place showing.
 
Esther Osisike won the women's discus with a throw of 49.36 meters (161-11). 
 
COMING UP SATURDAY
The Mt. SAC Relays continue Saturday with Princess Uche running the 400-meter dash (1:55 p.m. MT) and Loubna Benhadja competing in the women's 400-meter hurdles (3:30 p.m. MT).
