#ICYMI
UTEP dropped its first game of the season last Sunday afternoon in a 1-0 loss to UC Riverside. The Highlanders scored early, and despite outshooting the visitors 10-9, the Miners could not find the back of the net. Mina Rodriguez paced the Miners with three shots, followed by Anai Lopez with two. Angelina Amparano made three saves in net for the Miners. UTEP's best chance of the game came midway through the second half when Ana Quintero broke away from the UCR defense and looked like she was in on goal, but a well-timed pass breakup from the visitors stopped the play.

LEADING THE CHARGE
Anai Lopez and Mina Rodriguez lead the Miner offense with five shots apiece. Sheyliene Patolo, Ana Quintero, and Sydney Williams follow close behind with three each.

ALL ABOUT EFFICIENCY
While early, three Miners are notching at least .500 SOG% this season. Ana Quintero has a team-leading two shots on goal in three total shots (.667 SOG%), Taya Lopez has tallied one shot on goal in two shots (.500) and defender Sarina Villa Cuellar's lone shot of the season on target (1.000).

SHARING THE WEALTH
Twelve different Miners have registered a shot through three games of the campaign, with eight players having tallied at least two.

MINUTES IN THE TANK
Five Miners have played over 200 minutes already this season. Angelina Amparano and Ashlyn Neireiter are the only two players to log all 270 match minutes, while Mina Rodriguez (257), Daniele Tovar (225), and Ashlee Mora (203) have also tallied impressive game time.

SECRETARY OF DEFENSE
Angelina Amparano has made 13 saves in 32 shots faced to start the 2024 campaign while allowing just one goal against.

GET THAT CORN(ER) OUTTA MY FACE!
UTEP has held strong against 14 corner kick efforts from the opposing teams through the first three games of the season, including a game-clinching clear in the dying seconds of the Miners' win over the Lions on Thursday evening. The Miners improved in number of corner kicks allowed by opponents against UCR, with the Highlanders taking just two corner kick attempts, as opposed to seven against Texas A&M – Commerce and five against ACU.

COMMUNITY BEHIND US
University Field has seen great crowds to start the season in back-to-back seasons as nearly 1,000 fans showed up to support the Miners over the first home weekend this year.
