No. 10 UTEP Rifle Hosts No. 16 Ohio State to Close Out Fall Slate Saturday

EL PASO, Texas — No. 10 UTEP Rifle will close out its fall schedule at home on Saturday, Nov. 22, as the Miners welcome No. 16 Ohio State to the UTEP Rifle Range. The range opens at 8 a.m. MT, with sighters beginning at 9 a.m. MT.

LAST MATCH RECAP
UTEP delivered another strong performance this season last Saturday, firing a 4713 aggregate in a tightly contested matchup with top-ranked Nebraska in EL Paso. The Miners outshot the Huskers in smallbore, 2337–2335, but Nebraska narrowly gained the edge with a 2382–2376 advantage in air rifle to secure the four-point victory (4717).

Kameron Wells headlined the day for UTEP, placing third overall with an 1185 aggregate behind a career-best-matching smallbore performance. She was followed closely by Carlee Valenta (1182), Kennedy Wells (1175), Julia Czernik (1170), Xan Keel (1163), and Paige Hildebrandt (1156). Kennedy Wells produced a complete career-best day across both disciplines.

SCOUTING THE FIELD
UTEP (No. 10) – UTEP enters the weekend ranked No. 10 nationally in air rifle with a 2375.000 average. The Miners also rank 11th in aggregate average at 4697.333 and 15th in smallbore with a 2322.333 average.

Individually, junior standout Carlee Valenta continues to lead the charge, ranking T-12 nationally in air rifle average (596.667) and 32nd in aggregate average (1179.167). Valenta and Kameron Wells are tied for 47th nationally in smallbore average (582.5).

Ohio State (No. 16) – Ohio State arrives in El Paso ranked 11th nationally in air rifle average (2362.667), 12th in smallbore (2327.111), and 13th in aggregate (4689.778).

Individually, Gabriella Sprague leads the Buckeyes in air rifle average (591.111), ranking 70th nationally, and in aggregate average (1173.111), ranking 54th. Lillian Warren paces OSU in smallbore with a 582.857 average, placing her 45th nationally.
