Four Miners Earn 2025 CSC Academic All-District® Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. - UTEP Volleyball's commitment to excellence extends beyond the court, as standout student-athletes Landry Braziel, Kalia Kohler, Luvina Oguntimehin, and Sara Pustahija were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team, announced Tuesday afternoon. The prestigious honor recognizes their academic and athletic achievements during the 2025 season.

Landry Braziel

The sophomore outside hitter earned Academic All-District recognition after posting a perfect 4.0 GPA as a communication studies major. Braziel appeared in 30 matches with 24 starts and played a key role in the Miners' lineup, totaling 237.5 points on 209 kills while adding 45 total blocks on the season.

Kalia Kohler

The junior setter was honored for the second consecutive year, earning CSC Academic All-District accolades in both 2024 and 2025. A multidisciplinary studies major with a 4.0 GPA, Kohler started 26 matches and played in 27 overall, guiding the Miners' offense with 575 assists. She also contributed across the stat sheet with 28 aces, 12 kills, and 156 digs. Kohler's standout season included Second Team All-Conference USA honors, two CUSA Co-Setter of the Week selections, and one CUSA Setter of the Week award.

Luvina Ohuntimehin

The sophomore middle blocker collected Academic All-District recognition while maintaining a 3.77 GPA in information systems and business analytics. Oguntimehin played in all 30 matches with seven starts, finishing the season with 200 points, 162 kills, and 68 total blocks, providing a strong presence at the net throughout the year.

Sara Pustahija

The senior outside/rightside hitter capped off her collegiate career with her second straight Academic All-District honor, also earning the distinction in 2024. An operations and supply chain management major with a 3.55 GPA, Pustahija started all 30 matches and played in every set during the season. She tallied 333 points on 264 kills, added 36 aces, 184 digs, and 55 total blocks, and earned AVCA All-Southwest Region Honorable Mention, First Team All-CUSA honors, CUSA Offensive Player of the Week recognition, and a spot on the CUSA Preseason Team.
About CSC Academic All-District®
The 2025 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To qualify for the Academic All-District and All-American teams, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a minimum cumulative 3.50 GPA and have competed in at least 90% of the team's competitions or started 66% of the institution's matches. 

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced January 13, 2026.
