– The UTEP women's basketball team (9-12, 2-8 CUSA) will face off against FIU (9-13, 5-6 CUSA) Thursday in Miami. Tipoff is set for 9 a.m. MT/ 11 a.m. ET.

AND THAT'S WHAT YOU MISSED
UTEP fell to 9-12 in 2024/25 and 2-8 in league play after falling to NM State 85-60 on Feb. 8. The Miners shot 40.0 percent (20-50) from the floor, 25.0 percent (4-16) from three, and 66.7 percent (16-24) from the charity stripe in the contest. Ivane Tensaie paced UTEP with 16 points, while Portia Adams (11) and Ndack Mbengue (10) were also in double figures. Mbengue earned another double-double, adding a game-high 11 rebounds to her game total. Mary Moses Amaniyo also had a solid outing, putting up seven points and six rebounds. Irene Asensio and Heaven Samayoa-Mathis shared the team lead in assists with two apiece while Aaliyah Davis snagged UTEP's lone steal and Dunja Zecevic swatted a game-best two blocks.
 
MINER NOTABLES
Two Miners are averaging double-figures in scoring, Ivane Tensaie (13.8), and Portia Adams (10.4). Ndack Mbengue pulls down a team-best 7.5 rebounds per game, followed by Luisa Vydrova  at 5.6. Delma Zita is handing out 3.8 assists per game with Adams sitting second at 2.5. Adams and Irene Asensio share the team lead in steals at 1.0 apiece. Dunja Zecevic swats a team-best  0.8 blocks per game. Mbengue is  shooting a team-best 56.1percent from the floor while Tensaie leads from beyond the arc (40.7). Zita, Vydrova, Tensaie  and Adams are all hitting 80.0 or better from the foul line  at 82.1, 81.5, 81.3, and 80.7, respectively.
 
LEADING BY EXAMPLE
Ivane Tensaie posted 16 points against NM State, her 10th time leading the Miners in scoring this season. Moreover, it was Tensaie's fourth straight and 16th game this season scoring 10 or more points, including four with 20 or more.
 
DOUBLE-DOUBLE QUEEN
Ndack Mbengue registered her sixth double-double of the season against the Aggies. She posted 10 points to go with a game-high 11 rebounds. It marked her eighth game with 10 or more rebounds, and 10th time leading the Miners on the glass.
 
MAKING THE MOST OF IT
Mary Moses Amaniyo used her minutes wisely against NM State. She put up seven points and was second in the game with six rebounds in just 12 minutes of action.
 
GET THAT OUTTA HERE!
Dunja Zeceivc swatted a game-high two blocks against the Aggies.  It was her fourth multi-block game of the season.

Portia Adams dropped 11 points against NM State, her 11th 10+ point game of the season.
 
TENSAIE FOR THREEEEE!
Ivane Tensaie is averaging 2.90 three pointers per game in 2024-25. She leads Conference USA and sits ninth in the country in the category.
 
BOXING OUT
UTEP allowed NM State just 28 rebounds, tying for the second lowest rebounds total by an opponent this year.
 
BLOCK PARTY
The Miners swatted four blocks against the Aggies, tied for second most blocks on the campaign.
 
CRASH THE GLASS
UTEP grabbed 15 offensive rebounds against NM State. It marks the third straight game with 10 or more offensive boards, and longest such streak of the season.
 
ON TARGET
The Miners shot 40.0 percent from the floor against the Aggies, marking the fifth time in the last six games that they have hit 40.0 percent or better.
 
GET TO THE LINE!
UTEP went 16 of 24 from the foul line against NM State, marking the most free throw makes and attempts in a Conference USA game this season.
 
HOW MAY WE ASSIST YOU?
The Miners have recorded 267 assists in 487 made shot attempts this season (54.8 percent).
 
INTERNATIONAL LOVE
UTEP has 10 international players on their 2024-25 roster. That is the second most in Division I, behind South Florida with 11.
 
SCOUTING REPORT: FIU
The Panthers are 9-13 on the season, including 5-6 in CUSA play. They are averaging 65.5 points 36.2 rebounds, and 12.7 assists per game. FIU is shooting 45.4 percent from the floor, 29.9 percent from beyond the arc, and 64.0 percent from the foul line in 2024/25. Parris Atkins leads the team with 14.4 points per game, followed by Isnelle Natabou at 13.5. Angena Belloso is averaging 9.4 points per game, but has not appeared for the team since 1/18/25, in the Panthers first game against the Miners. Natabou pulls down a team-best 5.9 rebounds per game while Aaliyah Pitts (5.8) and Atkins (5.2) sit second and third, respectively. Lucia Fleta Robles is pacing the team in assists (3.1) and Atkins leads in steals (2.3). Natabou and Fantasia James both swat 0.7 blocks per game. As a team, the Panthers are ranked in the top 100 in multiple categories, including turnovers forced per game (20.32-33rd), rebound margin (6.9-33rd), field goal percentage (45.4-43rd), free throw attempts per game (19.59-43rd), steals per game (9.4-87th), and offensive rebounds per game (12.6-99th). In the individual rankings, Natabou leads the nation in field goal percentage (71.4) and ranks 15th in offensive rebounds per game (4.1) while Atkins sits 66th in steals per game (2.33)
 
SERIES HISTORY WITH THE PANTHERS
UTEP is 12-6 all-time against FIU. Earlier in the campaign, the Miners came back from 15 down to win 70-68 on 1/18/25
