UTEP Men’s Golf Finishes Ninth, Teeter Tied for Sixth at the Island Resort Intercollegiate Monday Afternoon

BARK RIVER, Mich. – UTEP men's golf opened the 2025-26 season with a ninth-place finish after three rounds of action at the Island Resort Intercollegiate hosted by South Dakota State at Sage Run Golf Course (7,375 yards | par 72) on Monday afternoon. 
 
The Miners shot 18-under par 846 (281-282-283). West Virginia won the tournament after firing 55-under par 809 (266-270-273), Purdue was second with a 49-under par 815 (277-264-274), and Michigan moved up a spot to third place after shooting  42-under par 822 (281-274-267). Miami (OH) was last with a 2-under par 862 (286-285-291). 
 
Dylan Teeter finished as the top Miner, tying for sixth overall after penciling in a 12-under par 204 (67-71-66). Teeter tallied 15 birdies and three bogeys on the weekend. Teeter moved up six spots after firing a 6-under par 66 and recording six birdies with zero bogeys on the afternoon.  
 
Patrick Foley tied for 28th with a 6-under par 211 (70-70-71). Foley recorded 11 birdies and eight bogeys. Foley recorded an eagle in the third round on hole 8 (par 4, 298 yards).  
 
Alexandre Godin (3-over par 219) is tied for 62nd. Godin dropped 22 spots after shooting 4-over par 76 in round three. 
 
Braden Smith (3-over par 219) also tied for 62nd.
 
Mark Keller (4-over par 220), in his UTEP debut, tied for 66th. Keller moved up two spots after a 1-over par 73 in round three. 
 
West Virginia's Ryan Leach won the individual title after firing 17-under par 199 (63-65-71). Teammate Kaleb Wilson shot 16-under par 200 (69-67-64) and was second as he moved up five spots after a 64 in round three. Purdue's Andre Zhu placed third at 15-under par 201 (68-65-68). 
 
ON THE APPROACH
UTEP will tee off at USC's Whirlwind Invitational on Sept. 8-9, in Chandler, Ariz., at Whirlwind Golf Club (Cattail Course).
