UTEP Men’s Golf Tied Ninth after Two Rounds at the 49th John A. Burns Intercollegiate Friday

ROUND 2 RESULTS

LIHUE, Kaua'i – UTEP men's golf dropped five spots to tie for ninth on day two at the 49th John A. Burns Intercollegiate hosted by Hawai'i on the Ocean Course at Hokuala (par 70 | 7,098 yards) on Friday.
 
UTEP (281-285—566) shot a 5-over and is tied with #23 Utah (283-283—566). Loyola Marymount (276-276—552) and #32 Texas A&M (277-275—552) are tied for first after 36 holes. #38 UNLV (281-274—555) is third, moving up a spot after firing 6-under. #30 BYU (281-277—558) and #19 New Mexico (281-277—558) are tied for fourth. #42 Long Beach State (278-282—560) dropped three spots and is tied for sixth with St. Mary's (286-274—560), which jumped seven spots after shooting 6-under. Santa Clara (282-283—565) is eighth and a stroke up on the Miners and Utes. Host Hawai'i (284-305—598) dropped six spots to 18th after shooting the day's worst round (305), and Fresno State (296-297—593) is in last place. 
 
The Miners rank third on par 3 holes, shooting 6-over (3.15 average). UTEP is tied for 10th with 27 birdies and tied 11th with 112 pars. LMU leads the field with 38 birdies, while UNLV paces with 125 pars. 
 
Braden Smith (67-70—137) shot par on day two, dropping three spots to tie for fifth with four other competitors. Smith has recorded 11 birdies, ranking second amongst the field. 
 
Dylan Teeter (68-73—141) dropped 20 spots to tie for 26th after shooting 3-over. Teeter has registered four birdies and ranks tied for fourth with 27 pars. 
 
Patrick Foley (75-69—144) made the biggest jump for the Miners, climbing 32 spots to tie for 45th after firing 1-under. After not penciling a birdie in round one, Foley connected on three in round two. Foley is tied with Teeter (t-fourth overall) with 27 pars. 
 
Marc Keller (75-73—148) moved up a spot to tie for 76th, and Valentin Luna (71-79—150)  has recorded the Miners' lone eagle (hole 2, round 1). 
 
LMU's Nateeshvar Anatha Ganesh (69-65—134) darted up 13 spots to top the leaderboard after firing 5-under. #75 Utah's Sergio Jimenez (66-69—135) is one stroke behind the leader, dropping one spot to second. UNLV's Mason Snyder (68-67—135) moved up four spots to tie with Jimenez. #54 UNM's Mesa Falleur (70-66—136) jumped up 17 spots to fourth. 
 
The third and final round tees off at 9 a.m. HST/Noon MST.
