UTEP Men’s Golf Tied for First after Round One at CUSA Championship in Texarkana, Monday

TEXARKANA, Ark. – UTEP shot 9-under par 279 in first-round action at the 2026 Conference USA Men's Golf Championship at Texarkana Country Club (par 72 | 6,969 yards) on Monday afternoon.

The Miners (279) are tied with rival NM State (279), and lead third-place Liberty (284) by five strokes and fourth-place Kennesaw State (285) by six.

UTEP is tied for first with WKU, shooting even par (3.0 avg.) on par-3 holes, ranks second on par 4s at 3-under (3.94 avg.), and is tied third on par 5s at 6-under (4.7 avg.). The Miners are ranked second with 19 birdies and tied second with 61 pars. UTEP (10) and NM State (9) have the fewest bogeys. The Aggies lead the field with two eagles.

Leading the way for the Miners is Alexandre Godin, who shot 4-under 68. Godin penciled in five birdies to only one bogey, currently tied for second with WKU's Rafe Blankenship (68). Godin and Blankenship are a stroke behind leader NM State's Mateo Payan (67).

Patrick Foley is tied for fourth after shooting 3-under par 69. Foley is tied with four other golfers. Foley started slow, bogeying holes one and six – his only two of the round. He was 2-over before birdying five straight holes (8-12) and finished by shooting par on the final six.

#143 Dylan Teeter is tied for 12^th after shooting 1-under par 71. Teeter birdied holes two, nine and 16, and bogeyed holes 14 and 18.

Braden Smith (71) is tied for 12^th, as he recorded birdies on holes seven, 10 and 16, and bogeyed holes six and 18.

Mark Keller is tied for 20^th after shooting even par. Keller got off to a blazing start, birdying holes 2-4, but bogeyed at seven, nine and 12.

Round two action will begin at 8 a.m. CT/7 MDT on Tuesday, while round three is on Wednesday. The semifinals match play is Thursday, April 30, at 8 a.m. CT/7 MDT, while the finals will be later in the day, starting at 1 p.m. CT/Noon MDT. The final will be streamed on ESPN+.
