Keeton Announces 2026 UTEP Soccer Schedule As Miners Enter Mountain West

5/20/2026 2:05:00 PM

EL PASO, Texas – UTEP soccer head coach Gibbs Keeton unveiled the 2026 schedule on Wednesday. The Miners will play a 19-game regular season slate, including 10 league contests as part of their first campaign as members of the Mountain West.

All of UTEP's conference matches will be available live on the new Mountain West subscription streaming platform. Fans are encouraged to sign up early. For complete information, please visit https://watch.themw.com.

"We're excited for our first year in the Mountain West Conference and the opportunities that come with the new conference," Keeton said. "The regional travel makes for a great experience for our student-athletes, while the level of competition will continue to challenge our program to meet its goals and expectations. There's a lot of excitement surrounding this new chapter for UTEP, and specifically for UTEP soccer we look forward to kicking off this new era in the MWC."

The Orange and Blue kick off the campaign at home against Lamar (8/12). It is the earliest start date in program history. The matchup will mark the first of three nonconference contests designated for University Field, with UTEP also set to play host to Sul Ross (8/16) and the University of San Diego (9/3).

Keeton's charges will be tested early, with six of the nine tilts prior to MW action set for hostile territory. The Miners' road opener comes at Tarleton State (8/20), which initiates a stretch of seven of eight on the road (including MW opener). UTEP will also play at ACU (8/23), at NAU (8/30), at UTRGV (9/10), at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (9/13) and at I-10 rival NM State (9/17) during nonconference action.

The program's first matchup as members of the Mountain West comes at UNLV (9/24). The Miners' other four road tilts in conference action will be at Hawaii (10/11), at Wyoming (10/18), at Nevada (10/28) and at fellow first-year member UC Davis (11/1).

The Orange and Blue's MW home lid lifter pits them against San Jose State (9/27). UTEP will also welcome Air Force (10/3), affiliate league member Colorado College (10/15), I-25 rival New Mexico (10/24) and Grand Canyon (11/7) to the Sun City as part of its conference slate.

The 10 conference contests, UTEP's most since 2022, lead into the 2026 Mountain West Women's Soccer Championships that will be held the week of Nov. 8.

Season tickets for the year are on sale now for only $35. Fans can call 915-747-UTEP or visit UTEPMiners.com/Tickets for more information. The Miners will have eight home contests on the docket, including five within MW action.
