EL PASO – Jackson Norwich, an El Paso native and 2021 graduate of Coronado High School, was named the UTEP men's and women's assistant coach on Monday.

Norwich was a student-athlete at Arizona from 2021 to 2025. He competed in over 20 collegiate tournaments with a career scoring average of 74.03. Norwich served on the University of Arizona Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) from Aug. 2023 to May 2025. Following his time as a player, Norwich transitioned to a student-coach role during the 2025-26 campaign, in which the Wildcats finished third at the NCAA National Championship. Norwich graduated from the University of Arizona in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

"I've gotten to know Jackson over the last several years as he competed for the University of Arizona. This past season he served as the Student Assistant Golf Coach at U of A, where they advanced to the semifinals of match play at the National Championship," UTEP men's golf head coach Aaron Puetz said. "Jackson brings a wealth of knowledge, not only from his collegiate playing and coaching career, but also from being from El Paso. His local knowledge will help us immensely in our continued effort to connect to the community and our donors. We are excited to welcome Jackson back to El Paso and to our program. Go, Miners!"

Norwich recently completed his first season in the coaching ranks at U of A. He helped develop inside into high-level coaching strategies and decision-making processes. Norwich mentored younger players to support their transition into college life, academics and athletics. During his time on the staff, Norwich gained a deeper understanding of team dynamics, leadership, and player development.

Norwich shot a career-low 67 on the second day of the Maui Jim Intercollegiate in 2022-23. He carded a 54-hole score of 208 at the Maui Jim during the 2021-22 campaign. While competing as a Thunderbird in the 915, Norwich was the 2021 Texas 6A individual district champion and was honored as a 2021 El Paso Times All-City Selection.

Off the course, Norwich interned at Lone Star Title from May to August 2025. He was a TaylorMade Golf brand ambassador (Sept. 2021 – May 2025).
