Texas Western Round Up Raises Record $600,000 For UTEP Student-Athlete Scholarships; Flash Sale Underway on Final Items

EL PASO, Texas – Texas Western Round Up, the primary fundraiser for UTEP Athletics, raised a record $600,000 for student-athlete scholarships on Saturday night in the Don Haskins Center. The total amount is equivalent to 24 student-athlete scholarships and double the number raised in 2025.

"What a tremendous evening for UTEP Athletics as we prepare to kick off an exciting new era in the Mountain West Conference," UTEP Vice President and Director of Athletics Jim Senter said. "Our Miner Athletic Club staff worked tirelessly to put on a first-class event, and our sponsors and donors showed up and showed out to make a huge difference for our student-athletes."

A $225,000 match from an anonymous donor helped pave the way for the unprecedented result. UTEP Athletics also received record sponsorship support, headlined by Speaking Rock Casino's presenting sponsorship. The silent auction, presented by ZTEX Construction, posted record numbers as well.

Planning is already underway for the 2027 edition of the event, which will feature the chance to bid on a brand-new home built by Edwards Homes. Be on the lookout for more information on how you can participate in this first-in-kind opportunity.
