EL PASO, Texas — UTEP Vice President and Director of Athletics Jim Senter announced The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) as a jersey patch partner for the Miner football program on Monday.  The deal was brokered by Van Wagner on behalf of UTEP Athletics.

The IBEW logo will be displayed on all competition uniforms for the football team beginning this fall, the Miners' inaugural year in the Mountain West Conference.  The IBEW logo will join the GECU logo on all UTEP football uniforms.

UTEP is the first school in the Mountain West with two jersey patches for football.

"We're thrilled to announce this partnership with IBEW," Senter said.  "Their members have been powering our country for over a century, boosting our infrastructure and economy.  We're excited to have them on board and helping to power our football team!"

"IBEW Local 583 is proud to partner with UTEP Athletics and become a UTEP Football jersey patch sponsor," Dave Leno, IBEW Treasurer said.  "This partnership gives our organization an opportunity to stand alongside the Miners while connecting our members, families, and the greater El Paso community with a program that means so much to this region.  We are proud to support UTEP, proud to support El Paso, and proud to be part of the Miner family."

IBEW represents approximately 901,000 active members and retirees who work in a wide variety of fields, including utilities, construction, telecommunications, broadcasting, manufacturing, railroads and government.
