UTEP Bookstore Unveils 2026 Hispanic Heritage Collection

EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP Bookstore has partnered with local artist and Miner alum Yajaira Enriquez on the 2026 edition of its Hispanic Heritage Collection. The collection is on sale now at the bookstore.

National Hispanic Heritage Month kicked off on Tuesday.

The following products are currently in-store while supplies last:

Enriquez is an artist and designer whose work blends the energy of fine art with the clarity of design.  A proud UTEP alumna with a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Painting, she was born in Ciudad Juárez and raised in El Paso.  Her creative voice is closely tied to her borderland upbringing, reflecting the hybrid identity and storytelling of her heritage while focusing on the positive side of being "de aquí y de allá" (from here and from there). "I wanted this artwork to feel inspirational, filled with stylized icons that reflect our beautiful Sun City, our school, and the spirit of our borderland heritage," Enriquez said.  "I brought these elements together through vibrant rótulo-style lettering, using timeless 'dichos' and phrases that speak to education, empowerment, and cultural pride.  It's a celebration of the students who put in the effort to grow, to push forward with determination and heart.  At the same time, it connects with UTEP's mission and values—those roots that ground us and guide who we are, and who we are still becoming."

"It's an eye-catching line that delivers a powerful message, while reflecting the positive vibes and values of Latino Pride in the Sun City."

The UTEP Bookstore is located at 2201 Sun Bowl Dr. Regular hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 am–5 pm.

All products will also be sold at the next UTEP football home game versus Oregon State on September 26.
