UTEP Men’s Golf in Ninth after Two Rounds at the 16th Annual Mark Simpson-Colorado Invitational Tuesday

BOULDER, Colo. – UTEP (281-278—559) finished in ninth place after two rounds of play at the 16^th Mark Simpson-Colorado Invitational at the Boulder Country Club (par 70 | 6,967 yards) on Tuesday.

The final round will be played on Wednesday, teeing off at 7:30 a.m.

The Miners carded a 559 and are two strokes behind Mountain West foe Nevada (275-282—557). Long Beach State (265-273—538) leads the field. Arkansas State (267-274—541) is second, while host Colorado (272-275—547) sits third. Denver (270-281—551) is in fourth place, while Kansas City (277-275—552), Utah (277-275—552) and San Diego (277-275—552) are in a three-way tie for fifth.

Julien Dulait (66-70—136) is tied for 13^th. The freshman got off to a strong start, firing a 4-under par 66 in the opening round and entering the second round tied for fifth. Dulait penciled in four birdies and zero bogeys. He, however, shot even par in the second round after bogeying three holes. Dulait has seven birdies overall.

Patrick Foley (73-68—141) got off to a slow start, shooting a 73 in round one, but rebounded with a 68 in round two to move up 29 spots to tie for 39^th. Foley had two double bogeys, but in round two recorded four birdies and bogeyed only two holes.

Marc Keller (70-72—142) is tied for 50^th. Keller recorded four birdies and six bogeys.

Alexandre Godin (76-68—144) rebounded with a 68 in round two, shooting up 26 spots to tie for 62^nd. Godin didn't record a birdie in the opening round, but rebounded with four birdies against just two bogeys in the second round.

Luke Harwick (72-75—147) is tied for 77^th. Harwick has registered six bogeys, two double bogeys and three birdies.

Arkansas State's Henry Styles (63-64—127) tops the leaderboard after 36 holes. Long Beach State's Jaden Huggins (67-65—132) and Norwin Gohm (64-69—133) round out the top three players.

UTEP is third on par 3 holes (3.08 avg., +3), and tied for sixth on par 5 holes (4.72 avg., -5). The Miners' 26 birdies rank 14^th in the field. Long Beach State leads with 46 birdies.
