LAS VEGAS – The Mountain West announced its Old Trapper Women's Volleyball Players of the Week on Monday, with UTEP's
Mackenzi Davis earning Freshman of the Week honors.
Davis becomes the first Miner to earn a conference freshman weekly honor since the 2023 season and just the seventh player in program history to receive a freshman weekly award.
The freshman helped lead UTEP to a perfect 3-0 weekend and its third consecutive Southwest Showdown championship. Davis totaled 27 kills, 11 blocks, including eight solo blocks, and 36.5 points across the three matches. She averaged 1.93 kills per set while hitting .300 for the weekend.
Her strongest performance came in UTEP's five-set victory over UTRGV, when Davis recorded a career-high 16 kills and hit an impressive .500.
