UTEP Men’s Golf’s Foley Finishes T-Fourth, Miners T-Seventh Overall at Bomb Darts Birds Intercollegiate Tuesday Afternoon

TEAM-BY-TEAM RD 3 RESULTS | FINAL RESULTS

PHOENIX, Ariz. – UTEP (277-277-278) shot 32-under par 832, finishing tied for seventh on the final day at USC's Bomb Darts Birds Intercollegiate at Whirlwind Golf Club (par 72 | 7,222 yards) on Tuesday.

Patrick Foley (66-66-70—202), the top Miner, dropped three spots to tie for fourth after shooting a 70 in the third round. Foley has penciled in 17 birdies, tying for seventh most in the field. He recorded seven in round one, followed by another six in round two, including an eagle at 12 (par 5, 611 yards). Foley recorded four birdies on the final day.

Santa Clara (265-276-273) took control in the first round and never looked back, winning the event at 50-under par 814. NM State (270-272-275) finished three strokes behind at 47-under par 817. Arkansas State (274-279-268) was third at 43-under par 821. Stanford (280-269-278—827) was fourth, while Eastern Michigan (273-285-272—830) and host USC (269-274-287—832) tied for fifth, two strokes ahead of UTEP (277-277-278—832).

UTEP newcomer Luke Harwick (67-69-70—206) tied for 17^th in his first tournament as a Miner. He recorded 16 birdies.

Valentin Luna (71-71-71—213), competing as an individual, tied for 51^st.

Marc Keller (73-72-69—214) moved up nine spots after shooting a 69 in round three, placing tied for 59^th.

Freshman Julien Dulait (72-70-72—214) made his collegiate debut, tying for 59^th.

Alexandre Godin (72-75-69—216) moved up eight spots after shooting a 69, tying for 67^th.

The Miners will travel to compete at Mountain West program Air Force's Gene Miranda Invitational on Sept. 19-21, in Colorado Springs at the Eisenhower Blue Course.
